Case Study: How a Small Business Tripled Website Leads With One Brand Film

The Situation

A Gulf Coast-based financial services firm — boutique, five-person team, serving high-net-worth clients in the regional market — came to us with a common problem.

Their clients loved them. Their referral business was strong. But their digital presence was weak: a professional-looking website that was failing to convert visitors into inquiries.

They were getting decent organic traffic from local SEO and Google Ads. But the conversion rate was low — most visitors spent a minute or two on the site and left without making contact.

The problem, as we diagnosed it: the website communicated what they did, but not who they were. And in financial services, people hire who they trust — not just who has the right credentials.

The Solution: One Brand Film, Strategically Placed

We proposed a single, focused solution: a 90-second brand film placed prominently on the homepage, designed to immediately establish trust and connection with the right kind of potential client.

The Creative Direction

After our discovery session, we identified the firm's core differentiator: they were advisors who genuinely knew their clients' lives — not just their portfolios. They were the kind of people you called before making a major financial decision, not after.

That became the film's central message. Not credentials. Not product offerings. The experience of having a financial partner who actually understood what was at stake.

Production

We shot over one day at their office. Two advisors on camera, in natural conversation (not scripted monologues). Warm, professional lighting. A visual treatment that felt elevated but approachable — the visual equivalent of their brand promise.

We also captured supporting b-roll: the team in genuine interaction, whiteboard strategy sessions, the textures and details of their office environment.

Post-production included a warm color grade, carefully selected music, and light motion graphics for the opening and closing.

Total production time: 1 shoot day, 2 weeks post-production Investment: Within the $5,000–$10,000 range

The Results

The firm launched the video on their homepage in the third week of the month. They tracked results over the following 90 days compared to the same period in the prior year.

Homepage bounce rate: Down 34% Average session duration: Up 67% Contact form submissions: Up 312% Phone inquiries: Up 180% New client meetings booked: Up 140%

Over the following six months, three of the new clients acquired directly attributed the video as the factor that made them decide to reach out.

Based on average client lifetime value, the video paid for itself many times over within the first year.

Why This Worked

It was strategically placed. The video went on the homepage — the single highest-traffic, highest-intent page on their site. A video on a back page nobody sees doesn't move the needle. Placement matters.

It answered the right question. Website visitors in the consideration phase of evaluating a financial advisor have one primary question: Can I trust this firm with my family's financial future? The film answered that question directly and credibly.

It was authentic. We didn't script talking points. We had real conversations with real people about what they actually believe. Audiences can feel the difference.

It was short enough to watch. At 90 seconds, it was long enough to build genuine trust and short enough not to lose impatient visitors. Length optimization matters for conversion video.

The Broader Lesson

This case illustrates something we see consistently: for trust-based businesses, video is the single highest-leverage investment in digital marketing.

Content, design, and paid traffic can bring people to your website. But once they're there, the question is: do they trust you enough to reach out? For professional services firms — law, finance, healthcare, consulting — the answer to that question is almost entirely determined by how human and credible they appear.

Video humanizes in a way that text and static imagery simply cannot.
