Case Study: Brown Financial Advisory — Building Trust Through Video

The Client

Brown Financial Advisory is a boutique financial planning firm built on a simple premise: put the client first, always. Their fee-only model and fiduciary commitment set them apart in an industry where conflicts of interest are common — but communicating that differentiation to potential clients was a consistent challenge.

The Challenge

Financial services is one of the most trust-sensitive industries in the world. Potential clients are evaluating advisors not just on credentials and track record, but on something harder to define: do I trust this person with my family's financial future?

Brown Financial was struggling to convey their genuine values, transparent approach, and client-first philosophy through traditional marketing channels. Their website, while professional, felt interchangeable with a hundred other advisory firms.

They needed content that let potential clients see and hear the people behind the firm — and decide, before the first meeting, whether there was a values match.

Our Approach

The Core Insight

After our discovery process, we identified the central truth of Brown Financial's brand: they exist to give clients clarity and confidence about their financial future. Not products. Not returns. Clarity.

That became the emotional spine of everything we produced.

What We Produced

Firm Overview Video (90 seconds) A conversational, cinematic introduction to the firm's philosophy, team, and approach. Shot in their office with natural light supplemented by our lighting package, the video feels warm, personal, and genuine — deliberately different from the stiff, stock-footage-heavy videos common in financial services.

Advisor Introduction Videos (60 seconds each) Individual videos for each advisor — not scripted recitations of credentials, but real conversations about why they became financial planners and what they believe about their role in clients' lives.

Client Testimonial Videos (2 videos) Real clients, on camera, describing what working with Brown Financial feels like. The focus was not on performance numbers but on the emotional experience: feeling heard, feeling clear, feeling confident.

Production Approach

We shot over two days, prioritizing natural, unguarded moments. The best content we captured was between takes — when the advisors relaxed and spoke naturally. We built those moments into the edit.

The Results

  • Website engagement improved significantly, with visitors spending more time on the About and Team pages after videos were added
  • New client consultations increased in the months following launch
  • Referral conversations became easier — existing clients started sharing the video as a way to introduce the firm to people they were recommending
  • The firm reported that prospects arrived at first meetings already aligned with their philosophy, making the sales process more efficient

What Made This Work

Authenticity over polish. We could have produced a slick, corporate financial services video. Instead, we produced something that felt real — because real is what builds trust.

Client-centric storytelling. Every piece of content was framed around the client's experience and transformation, not the firm's credentials.

Consistency across all pieces. A cohesive visual and tonal approach across all videos means every touchpoint reinforces the same message.
